Combining state of the art wireless technologies with III’s innovative Distributed Learning Management System and supporting authoring tools, and low-cost personal computing devices such as netbooks, NDT’s eLearning solutions enable the rapid development and deployment of online learning systems by school districts and other educational organizations worldwide.

High-Speed Wireless Connectivity

s As part of our eLearning Solutions, NDT and III offer rich experience and expertise in the development, deployment, and management of high-speed Wi-Fi and WiMAX broadband networks that can deliver rich IP based multimedia services for eLearning such as video and VOIP telephony and videoconferencing.

NDT and III have gained particular expertise in developing solutions for remote rural areas with limited infrastructure, having carried out pilot projects in regions such as the South Pacific.

eLearning Platform

NDT and III have developed a comprehensive eLearning platform that facilitates the creation and management of eLearning programs and includes the following key components: 
• Distributed Learning Management System: This advanced management software provides a flexible solution for managing eLearning programs and includes the following key features: 
o School Administrators: Assigning and delivering courses to students.
o Students: Participating in eLearning courses. 
o Parents: Following the progress of their children and their student rankings

• Course Contents: NDT and III have developed a rich library of course content that can be utilized as the basis for eLearning programs. 
• Course Content Authoring Tools: These provide an array of easy-to-use applications for the development of rich content for eLearning courses in text and multimedia formats. The tools also support a wide variety of languages, ensuring the fast and low-cost localization of educational content.

eLearning Initiatives

In the Americas and the South Pacific, NDT and III have been working to develop and deliver eLearning solutions to over 120,000 students - connecting over 1,000 classrooms upon completion of the projects.

To provide the required levels of wireless broadband connectivity, III and NDT will build a WiMax infrastructure for the eLearning platform and also provide students with durable, low-cost netbooks for accessing the Internet.

NDT and III are also working on a number of exciting new e-Learning initiatives in countries such as Nigeria and Australia to extend the benefits of online education to remote rural areas where access to the Internet is currently limited or non-existent.

As part of these initiatives, NDT and III are also developing innovative new PC systems based on alternative energy sources such as solar power for deployment in areas where electricity supplies are limited or in some case non-existent. Successful test deployments have already been conducted in the South Pacific, clearly demonstrating the huge potential of this green technology.

eLearning Devices

NDT and III are working with selected partners on the development of a new generation of high performance eLearning devices such as netbooks that will provide students convenient and affordable access to online educational resources.
